PSI housings, diffusers and spacers by Michael Wheeler

today I got my Michael Wheeler package full of awesome.   these mounting brackets, spacers and diffusers go with my dome lighting kit I received last month PSI mounts and diffusers by kimncris, on Flickr knowing what I know now I probably would have passed on these and tried to make them myself, but at … Continue reading »

Holo Projector – DONE!

I was thinking about what Chris on the R2 forums said about reducing the weight as much as possible yesterday and decided that today before I chopped it off of the stock I would try to deepen that big center hole a little more. I didn’t have a tool long enough to get all the … Continue reading »

holo projector close!

here’s where we left off needle indicator by kimncris, on Flickr and I cheated a little and used the ball from my existing holo to track with a makeshift needle made of plastic on the backside of the cross slide cutting along by kimncris, on Flickr and the front curve is done done by kimncris, … Continue reading »

more holo projector progress

cupcake tin

my cupcake tins did arrive today. they don’t fit all the way down to half of the ball, BUT, I think they have definite potential to work as my outer shell once I cut a hole out of the bottom – which by the way is FLAT not round like the description http://browncookie.com/products/hemi…-mold-set-of-6

third eye

I need another holo eye and have challenged myself to make it I ordered some stuff from around the internet to hopefully make this happen… I got two of my hemispheres today and while the 2.5″ one would totally work for a start for the ball, my real intent for it was as a backup … Continue reading »

dome drive and control

back from All-Con where I got to spend an hour+ talking with Glenn some more about his “visible R2” and trying to decide on battery/motor configurations. anyway – now that we are home again I started back on my r2 – opting first to avoid the frustration of Arduino and going back to the workshop… … Continue reading »

frustrated

tried again for two nights in a row to get the PS2 library working on my arduino and it is just not recognizing the controller correctly. I am very sure that my wiring is right, so maybe it is voltage.  But after another frustrating day of watching numbers fly by in the serial port but … Continue reading »

Distracted

so I couldn’t let my little blank arduino rot away in the box without trying something. Thanks to a book Kim already had for hers, I was able to get it to alternate two led’s blinking light-on by kimncris, on Flickr then this morning I figured I’d try out the DanF code but I needed … Continue reading »

more electronics

today my arduino and mp3 trigger arrived as well as a ps2 extension cable. with these I hope to start building a basic remote control system that can be used for testing and then later grow into a bigger more robust system. now that I look at the mp3 trigger though, I think I should … Continue reading »
